Help needed: Coneflower seeds sprouted, but dying. What's the cause?

last month

I have collected seeds from my coneflowers, and put them in the wet paper towel into the fridge for stratification as I learned from the youtube video. That worked very well. We soon as I took seeds back to the room temperature, they sprouted very vigorously. However, once I moved sprouted seeds into the potting soil, they started dying at a fast rate. You can see in the picture some sprouts are still standing, others already laying dead on the soil.

What am I doing wrong? Am I drowning them with too much water, or there is lack of water? The temperature in the room is 65F. They sprouted in this temp while being on the paper towel and having only water for food. Why are they dying in the soil now that they have more food?
