Cute Animal Pictures for a Playroom (and a baby!)

I’m working on a group of cute animal watercolors for the grandkids’ playroom off their kitchen / family room. Right now I am leaning towards frames in different primary colors unless one color stands out as a good choice for all six. The paintings are 6 x 8” and framed will be 8 x 10”. I am enjoying doing these now that it’s too darn cold to golf!

I’ve started on an owl, and plan to add a dog, a cat and maybe a fox.

In other small news, our Lucy is two months old!

She has not only not lost any hair, she is growing more, like Rapunzel ❤️ She is a girl after my own heart; even without being able to walk or talk she is already in charge of the household 🥰

I’m babysitting and driving the older kids to and from daycare quite a bit until DSIL goes on paternity leave in early February. So thankful they moved south when they left the city (instead of north) so we could help out when they really need it.

Such fun paintings. They are so lucky to have a quite talented grandparent! Different colored frames sounds like the way to go.

Cute paintings and even cuter baby!

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I have grandma envy. I am ready for a grandbaby! Sadly, the people who’s need to supply the baby are not ready. 😆

    She is so precious!

I recognize the inspiration behind those cute animals - we might be following the same person on instagram :) I am behind schedule so have only done a few of the easier challenges. I'm looking forward to trying my hand at the animals. Yours are wonderful and perfect for a nursery.

Yes, her work is very recognizable, with simple shapes and so easy to recreate! I was terrified of watercolors until I picked them up last summer on our trip, and she was one of the first artists I started following. There are several others that are more serious but I love her approach to art, especially its appeal to children. This is the lastest in the series:
