How do you keep track of your plant collection?

last modified: yesterday

TLDR: I built a better growlist tracking tool for plant folk. It's called collecto.rs, is a completely free passion project, and you can see my profile here: https://collecto.rs/David

I used to use a spreadsheet but hated that it was hard to add photos of my plants and was terrible to navigate on my phone. I just wanted to walk out into my garden, snap a few glamor shots on my phone, and immediately add that plant to my growlist. Luckily, I was in a position to scratch my own itch, and built collecto.rs with a few like-minded friends.

Some key features:

• A mobile-optimized web app that works way better than a spreadsheet across any size screen.
• Your plant images featured front-and-center in both grid and list views - very visually appealing.
• Powerful filtering, sorting, and searching to make finding the right plant/s a breeze.
• Easy sharing of your full collection, a filtered view of your collection, or even a specific plant. Don't want to share? - Set your entire collection, or specific items private.
• Use our database of 320,000 plants (and growing) to quickly and easily build out your collection, or manually add your plant and the details that are important to you (CSV/spreadsheet import feature being worked on now).
• Mark plants for sale or trade (trade coming soon!)
• Light mode/dark mode for easy viewing.
• LOTS more fun ideas in the pipeline.

I'm hoping you like it enough to use it and provide feedback that helps us prioritize your most desired features. - Community input is prioritized, and we've already incorporated numerous requested features, so make your voice heard and help build the perfect plant app for you.
