What are your thoughts about this siding/brick combination?

Just had roof and siding replaced and while the company did a great job, I'm not sure the cypress siding is working with the red brick. Can you share your thoughts and any ideas you may have? Thank you!

Give it a few weeks until you are used to the change. Mondo bucks were just spent doing a major change? It looks fabulous!

Love the color - is the brick just across the front of the home?

This is a fairly classic red/green color scheme and it looks pretty good. A white color of siding would look crisper though.

It’s a complementary color scheme, but I think the amount of white is distracting/breaks up the flow.

If interested and when budget allows, I’d incorporate the green elsewhere to create a better flow; garage door and shutters especially and even the front door. For more impact, you could add window boxes on the garage.

The white chimneys feel stark and the one near garage is so prominent. Down the road adding a chase would be a nice addition.

I agree the white is not good so start by removing the shutters ot paint all the white the same as the siding like this look

Thanks all! AI version of some of the recommendations above. Color is darker but the general idea is there. Interesting, but now it reads army barracks to me.

Try the trim in green but a bit lighter than the siding. All the colors are off in your image making the house appear less inviting.

I think the green and brick go well together. I think the trim is too white. A creamier color would pull everything together.

You might also like to try matching the roof color for the trim. Maybe then it wouldnt seem like army barracks to you. Its the white that makes everything look off, right now. The same color as the siding, looks nice to me, but, the charcoal of your roof, might look nice too.

Adding black accents for more contrast and a crisp look .I don't have software but here is my concept sketch.

    • Gutters
    • Downspouts
    • Vertical corner trim
    • Pillars
    • Shutters

You could also add black accents to your white fence.

Agree with Sigrid., a creameir color for the trim, but I like the green with the brick.

I think the white is just a bit stark. How about something in a lighter taupe with just a hint of green undertone like SW Rice Paddy.

I thik not so stark trim would work better

I would start with changing out the white shutters. Using the same colour as the siding would look good. Colour repetition is as effective outdoors as it is in indoor decorating, and the colour looks great with your brick. Maybe even paint the garage door the same, if it's paintable.

I think the problem visually is there are lots of rectangles, especially since the white windows contrast. Evergreen shrubs covering some of the brick will make the right side less angular by breaking up the block of brick colour and balancing it with the left side. Obviously you'd have some more interesting variations in shrub colour and shape than the one's I've drawn.

The seating area looks very inviting. Removing the shrubs in front of it would open up the porch visually and draw the eye in. Switch the seating to a lighter colour, and/or add light coloured cushions. Maybe a colour similar to the siding but lighter.

I'd remove the shrubs around the steps to open them up. Hard to tell the front door colour, but it would look good white.

Here's a rough idea of what I mean.

I'd invest the money into a better landscape. that alone will make a HUGE diff in curb appeal. the exterior of the home looks fine.

If you want darker tones paint all the white * or even the siding* a Pewter Bronze tone, including the garage doors. get some carriage hardware for those doors, see pic

at the very least do the iron hardware on the doors. maybe a new light.

but for sure do the front landscaping. it could look amazing if done correctly.

I like your AI rendering! Leaning into the darker shade of green imparts a cozy cottage feel. The green chimney, garage doors, porch posts, and shutters really harmonize for a nice New England flair. If you decide to go that route, make sure your paint is suitable for use on your windows. Some light-colored vinyl windows can be painted only certain shades to avoid warping.

I love your current Cypress green siding. I would paint the shutters to match the Cypress as suggested. And probably the porch posts. Bring a piece of siding to the paint store for a match or ask the siding company for the formula.

The green is definitely a bold choice, but I like it! I would maybe replace the white trim as others have suggested. If you're worried about the brick and wanted to keep the white, I would maybe consider doing white paint on the brick (a crime, I know). Otherwise, consider tying the brick in with some warm off-white tones in the trim/shutters. https://www.buildersservicecompany.com/what-color-siding-goes-with-red-brick
