Looking for ideas to cover the ground of my large patio - currently a cement slab under Saltillo tiles with long cracks along the expansion lines. Considering removing the cement which would also allow us to change the shape but understand most would say keep it. I don’t love the look of small pavers. Are pavers the best economical bet if keeping the slab? Other ideas? I think I would need to put in a barrier over the concrete to prevent cracking again if I cement any stone over it? Also need to put in a new patio cover and will be moving posts. Advice for novice appreciated. Budget is ideally under $10,000.
