I have these two wonderfully fragrant flowering trees Aglaia and Michelia Alba put on the ground in 2018, they are side by side, about 2 metres apart, to the eastern side of my house. Now the initially 35cm Aglaia tree is over 2 metres tall, and 2 metres wide, while the initially 80cm Michelia Alba tree is over 4-5 metres tall. Both trees bloom regularly every year. Aglaia blooms from October to mid June, Michelia Alba blooms from late November to early June. Both are evergreen trees, while aglaia seldom shed leaves, Michelia Alba shed some leaves in spring. No pests are found on both trees.

The fragrance from these two trees are intoxicatingly soothing and calmly pleasant, the scents permeate quietly through your olfactory organ straight down to your internals deeply, sifting throughout the soul tranquilly and seamlessly making you closing eyes to enjoy the happy moment. The fragrance from the Michelia Alba is cool, humid and fluid while the Aglaia’s is sweetly dry. The two trees are less than 10 metres from my ground floor windows so when they are blooming their fragrance can float over right into the sitting room, reaching people on the sofa. What a pleasant relaxing feeling when a wafting fragrance touchingly flying over your face. Occasionally the Michelia Alba can bloom in the winter from June to August, but that is rare.
