You need to provide more information + photos in order to receive any meaningful comments.

Similar to your two kitchen posts, people aren't able to see the whole room + have no idea what your post means = is it a complete renovation (kitchen)/are you keeping any of the current furniture or other items in room + do you have a new paint color selected for the walls or new flooring/rugs (living room)?

Also, for the living room - will it be used for television viewing or just for social gatherings? I would also include the number of people who live in the home + if you regularly have guests over, how many total people does the room need to work for re: seating?

You need to take photos of all walls + provide a scaled sketch of the room that includes the dimensions (in inches) for all walls/windows/doorways/doors/fireplace/etc. The sketch should show what the room looks like without any of your belongings in it - just the room itself.

A scaled sketch = you need to use graph paper OR a ruler (1/4" = 1'). It does not = just hand drawing a box the shape of the room + adding dimensions for the room (example - a square box with 15' x 18' listed as the size of the room). It takes a little effort on your part - but it is needed in order for you to receive help. After all, you are asking for free advice - you need to put forth a little effort in order to receive it.

Lastly, you should respond when someone takes the time to offer advice (example, someone posted a possible way to change your kitchen - but received no response from you) - even if you only thank the person for offering help.

"Best" is subjective. Maybe a new layout? New colors? New furniture?

Assemble the room in a more simple, cleaner fashion to make a better statement.
