Please help me choose Chandelier for my Dining Room

Hello! I am trying to decide on a chandelier for my Dining Room. Below is a photo of my dining Room. My table is 90" x 42". With the leaves, it is 130". I usually leave the leaves on as seen in photo. I calculated that I would need a 54-60" inch linear chandelier for the correct proportion. I am trying to decide on style. I have a sloped ceiling. Any/all advice would be appreciated. I have provided some pics that I like from Visual Comfort webpage. Thank you!! (btw - I am working on painting out the cabinet that you see in the DR photo...)

The Colette looks like something you would put over a billiards table, so don't pick that one.

Thanks Celery! Wow - That does look very nice. would you happen to know the mfg? I will look for similar. I believe I need to look for Chain link due to my sloped ceiling in order for the electrician to level.

I was going to select oil rubbed bronze finish or black finish as I have those colors on my door handles, armoire and some other finishes. Do you think that is the correct direction to go in? Thanks!

Thanks Chispa! The Ralph Lauren looks similar to the one Celery posted. I wonder if that would work.

Oh shoot, I do not see a spec sheet for this fixture on their website and it is final sale. I sent msg to them. Having a little trouble finding the longer width I need. I will keep looking.

pretty room! i just had to source pendants for a sloped ceiling and it was harder than I thought (several of my first choices were not compatible)

in your space I’d be tempted to do two fixtures - we have 2 lanterns in our DR with a longer table and it works well

2 fixtures look nice too! Just would require additional wiring and patching ceiling which is a big sore spot w my husband lol they could never get the ceiling seam clean so we eventually put that faux beam in. It drove him crazy seeing the cracks.

This photo shows the multiple ceiling heights in room. Slopes up to that beam, then flattens, then the drop. Reason: Old house w addition.

    thanks for the additional feedback!

I actually like the last one you posted in the original post. I also really like 5 in Beverly's post. I can't see dimensions, so I don't know if those work but for the looks and style.. This one, crystorama broche is similar...link to broche

Thanks for the link Salonva! That is a very pretty fixture. But I think I need some width to the fixture I choose. That link is helpful as I wasn't searching on that website, so will see what else they have.

Another question: Should I be sticking with Black or Aged Iron finish, or can I stray from that somewhat seeing the style of my room? Thanks!

All your other selections in the room really suggest a dark finish on the fixture so it can compete with all the other strong elements. Brass would not be a good call.

you can find lights that are made or have adapters for sloped ceilings. Theyre on a pivot type of hardware.

Thank you Beth and Beverly for your help and suggestion.

I haven't heard back from Italian Concept on the other chandelier I liked. So I think (lol) I have narrowed it down to this fixture.

It is slope ceiling compatible and 26" x 54" It comes in natural rusted iron. Has the single chain which will make it easier to hang. It is on backorder so will have to wait 4 -6 weeks. Lighting store near me gave me a discounted price as I have purchased from there before. I told him I would let them know this week.

Do you think this will be a nice fit in my room? Thanks!!

#4 from Beverly's post above looks similar to a Hubbardton Forge light. I love their designs, have many in my house. Light the table not the ceiling.

Hold on:. Everything is off; take up the rug at the slider and center the dining room rug in the designated dining area, which starts under the huge soffit. That means the wood cabinet is not in the dining area. Remove it and the corner glass curio.

The chandelier cannot be hung where the fan is. And, you will need one that will accompany a sloped ceiling.

Hello Oncape- thanks for your response. I’m out right now. I will take a couple of other photos tomorrow morning because I think the angles I took may be throwing off location of things in room. I’ll give you the dimensions of the room too. thank you!

I like the Italian Concept chandy more than the Ralph Lauren chandy. Did you notice the RL chandy is 43 lbs? Oof!

Mer03- I didn’t notice that, thank you for pointing it out!!

Oncape- This is view of room from side: excuse mess on table, working home today due to snow AGAIN! Mat is by door bc my dog going out to deck instead of yard. We got about 30” snow here, so it’s not usually there. Ceiling fan is centered on DR table as is area rug. Not sure why I should remove one of the curios. The wood cabinet, I plan on getting it painted to blend w wall. (So far that’s plan) thanks for feedback.
