I want to redo my bay room furniture configuration . maybe a new sofa

last month

I want to restyle my sofa. Maybe a smaller one and add a recliner that is more comfortable for me to sit in as I have short legs . It has been this way for probably 15 yrs

Nice room, windows, view! Please post photos of all directions along with a floor plan showing the dimensions. Are you open to doing a larger rug? Or maybe layering your existing g one over a large sisal rug? Your room needs the presence and the grounding of a larger rug. And that would be a jumping off point for specific fabrics and colors. The plan is needed so layout and sizing of items is correct.

You will get good suggestions if you draw out the room and include all dimensions (walls, windows, doors, etc).

I'd replace the fan with a ceiling hugging white one.

The room needs a larger rug and IMO a lighter color would be a better fit.

I'd add drapes to all the windows to minimize the repetitive arch appearance.

Appreciate all the comments , will do a drawing of the room and add different views. Thanks!

How many people do you actually need to see in this room? And how often?

It seems to have a wonderful view, but the seating arrangement does not take advantage of it.

I like the sectional. I would place it facing the view with the easy chairs by the windows instead of the sectional. Edit the number of easy chairs. Swivels would be nice to face the view or the room.

I have never wanted more to be in a room and re arrange the furniture than when I see the view and this arrangement😂

Beautiful view. Do you watch tv in this room?

That's a large room! You have an overwhelming amount of furniture in it now. The sectional looks good but even as an average height person I never find them comfortable. It's the cushions. When anyone else sits near you sink and list their way. It's soo annoying and painful for the hips. For the most helpful suggestions along with the drawing and number of people this room needs to accomodate tell us what it's most used for. Do you have other uses you dream of being able to do with this room? PS LOVE the arches...don't let other's personal likes/dislikes rule your choices.

Sectional rarely look like they belong in a room and yours is no exception. It honestly looks awkward. Will suggest that you replace with sofas and chairs. Your room seems large enough that it would accommodate more than one seating group.

Gorgeous room! You’ll definitely need to edit here and yes, replace the sofa with something smaller.

Honestly, over the years we have had 23 sleeping in our home during holidays and summer . Our adult children and the grandchildren . They love the sofa! And have great memories of sitting bunched up together, or hiding under the pillows. So many family photos there. Different ones napping there. Yes TV is watched there also. They don’t want us to get rid of it. But we are older and I feel the need to change . There is also a fireplace in the room . Agreed with too many side chairs in there 😂

Lazy Boy carries recliner styles for shorter people as well as average and tall people. You could each pick out your recliner to fit, then get them made in matching upholstery fabric.

Basset Furniture has at least one small recliner. I'm 5' tall and almost purchased the Kent model because I loved the size. Unfortunately, it is too small for my husband, so we had to pass on it.
