Post pictures of your room (all 4 walls) for best suggestions according to the size of your room.

I looked up the Orchid table (you might want to post pics) and I'd recommend you try sitting at it - or any other table - before purchasing. I don't think that table would work for my family because we're tall; I could be wrong but that big pedestal looks like it would get in the way of our legs.

If you are worried about the corners, there are plenty of oblong or rectangular tables with rounded corners that have leaves so you can extend them.

Is this your only dining space, or do you have another space where you can host family or friends? If it's your only space, I'd want something expandable.

I agree with @lisedv that pictures or a measured layout of your space would help.

If this is your only dining space, and especially if it is in an open floor plan, I would go with a rectangular extendable table. Without photos, hard to know… But if you are worried about sharp corners, assume it may be in a “pass thru” space? If so, I would also consider doing a bench along one side.
