Thanks for the recommendation. We started watching yesteday, and saw half of the episodes. If we had started earlier in the day, probably would have seen them all.

On a side note: I want her robe, which I found online with no plans to restock!

I like the house for its type; it’s a beautiful backdrop for academic collectors but too dark and moody for me personally. After two episodes I may not continue watching though. Weisz’ American accent is appalling, I wish they’d let her keep her own English voice and written the character backstory as a visiting grad student who married in the States. And nothing about it rings true to me, including her desire for the new professor and especially the family dynamics between Weisz and the husband and daughter characters. I don’t like the house enough to suffer the characters or story!

@Allison0704 - I love that you looked up the robe! I made quite an impression on me too.

@Kswl - The house is absolutely too dark for my tastes too. It would be hard for me to spend more than a day in it. But I still really loved looking at it on the screen and though it complemented the characters and their mentality well.

The part about the show that irritated me the most was Rachel Weisz' talking into the camera. I usually can't watch movies where that happens. But, I was able to forgive it after an episode or two.

I was so drawn to how much the show made fun on contemporary academia. And how much it normalized the sex drive and frustrations of an aging woman.
