When looking outside over the pool I wanted the golf course and pond behind our property to catch your eye and not a bright tile highlighting the pool.

High contrast pools were trending in the 1990s. Lately more muted designs have become popular.

I wanted the pool to blend into our patio/lanai and not be the center of attention.
In person the water color is more muted, not so bright.

Not a fan of blue on blue, but it has a refreshing feel.

Can you provide a picture of the coping and the plans for the surround. What about a muted tile that has a calm, natural effect.

I love the muted look!! My husband is insisting we have something different and I refuse dark blue as it's so outdated IMO so I thought my best bet would be light blue. Our coping is shown here beneath the samples. The trim will be tux white regardless of which waterline we choose. Husband's first choice is Purity Light Blue (second pic). I worry it will look too white since it's so so light. Also you can see one of the choices is a glass tile for waterline which we both love but we live in Utah (freeze climate). Had major probs with our current porcelain tile popping off two winters in a row but the builder used regular grout. Current builder has promised it will not be a problem, uses epoxy and a 3 step process and he has his own tile guy that always does this, not just any tile sub. I'm still nervous

My only comment, having owned two pools, is that the darker the tile is the more it shows hard water deposits. I previously had cobalt blue years ago, it showed the water deposits terribly. My current pool has a very light gray (?) tile similar in color to the coping, its very forgiving re hard water deposits.

Keep in mind that the depth of the water will make Breakwater look different.

Because I see this example, no one blue is going to work as well as the constant white. We did this with artificial turf....best is no dirt and grass in the pool, drains so well because of under liner. We have a pup, so we did pet friendly (anti-microbial).
