Would not keep the shutters. Are those white windows or white storm window frames ?

White windows. Any suggestions on exterior trim colors, door color, etc?

What exactly are you painting, just the siding & trim? No shutters, looks like you’re missing one, upper left? I’ll leave it to others re color suggestions. Not your question, but it appears that your yard needs a landscape upgrade.

It would have been helpful to photograph a liitle further back without the vehicles in the driveway.

i think the front door would look good in a color of your choice.

Well, I’m not a fan of painting brick in general. But in this case, the windows being a strong contrast to dark brick/siding/trim colors, I’d look at some lighter colors to minimize the contrast. The white windows with the dark house is very distracting.

Not planning to paint the brick, just thinking to brighten up the siding, trim, and door for a fresher look. Any thoughts on paint colors? Thank you for all the suggestions.

Maybe a warm gray or a gray-green color for the siding and trim? Make the front door its own accent color that works with the warm gray or gray green color.

    • I like the colors Revival A. suggested. One of my favorites is Farrow & Ball’s “French Gray”, really more of a green, you don’t have to buy F & B paint ( it’s not cheap ), but you could have it color matched elsewhere. Whatever color you choose get samples first.

No shutters. Match the white of the windows for trim, siding and front door.

I see the need to brighten up your exterior, generally I prefer colors similar to what you already have But, I think I would choose something deeper and richer, red, like SW Polished Mahagony, But since you hope to brighten up the exterior...

I would sample SW Taupe of the Morning

for a siding and trim color, including the garage door. (like your mortar color of the bricks)

and I'd paint the shutters a greyed greenish color and paint the front door a complimentary color to whatever you choose for the shutters.

SW Coastal Plain and SW Gallery Green would be my first choices for shutters and front door.

I think a nice cream color could work.

For the trim I would try to match a color with the detail over the windows and then a shade darker for the siding. Normally I like the trim to match the windows but I think the white may be too bright against the dark brick

If you want shutters on your house would suggest that you replace the existing shutters (which are obviously non-operable) with appropriately sized shutters that are operable. Will suggust you also include shutter dogs to hold them against the wall when they are not closed.

In the shadows, everything in the photo has a deep purpleish hue.

I would choose a color from the brick, not on the purple side, on the brownish side, to downplay all the different shapes, unify the entire facade. No white or cream.

Similar to this but without the black:

    Do you love the brick?

To show if it is brown or purple: Please add a close up about the size of a dinner plate of the brick and some white trim.
