I'm all for eclectic style for a room or home, but IMO your room is just too random in furnishings selections. No two items seem to work together.

Here is an eclectic room that leans Mediterranean in colors and finishes, but the brown is a link with certain finishes, accessories and art.

I think you might want to consider a layout that allows the rug to match the angle of the fireplace.

1. I see your point on "random furnishings." I'd like to keep my current furniture, but I could add new cushions and textiles that align with the color palette.

2. And I will organize the artwork by style and swap pieces from other rooms to maintain a cohesive look in the LR.

3. I’m open to a layout change, but I found that an angled rug didn’t work because the wall of windows is the focal point for me, not the fireplace, and the circulation pathway felt awkward in the open floor plan.

@la_la Girl, I used the SW visualizer for the fireplace and right wall, and added the Taraji Herringbone Brown rug. I’m now leaning towards a color other than brown for the rug, given the various shades of brown in my furniture and flooring. Any suggestions?

Yes, but do you have rooms you like? That is usually a very good starting place. I like the textures you have in the room. Not so sure about orange with green though. I would lean toward brown/cream/tan/orange (an Hermes room, LOL) but maybe if you had examples of rooms you liked it would be easier to help.

I like your inspo rooms. To me, though, most of them are neutral rooms. The one with ornage chairs has a grey fpl, but only half the wall. I think painting your fpl green, floor to ceiling ,could be a lot with the orange sofa.

Today, the painters are here, and I hope the creamy walls paired with the green accent wall around the fireplace will create a lovely backdrop.

We've found a smaller mahogany mantel (shelf and legs) on FB to replace the old white one. We'll remove the old mantel, paint the wall green, and install the new one.

PS: I would love your help in finding cushions and rugs to complete the look.
