Have you considered paneling the ceiling instead? A stain similar to the floor. Wow that would be awesome. Paint the walls a warm off-white.

I really like the colors and art. I would remove those woven shades and use white curtain panels. Remove the hanging bottles.

This looks like a contemporary-style home so I wouldn’t personally add board and batten to it. B and B seems like a more farmhouse feature.

I think the wall already has a lot going on visually. To add interest and dimension consider large, colorful art. You could then add complementary accessories on the buffet and the wall will become a lovely focal point.
