On a recommendation on this forum, I got rolls of cork to cut to size for all my drawers and shelves. The cork helps keep things in place and provides a bit of cushion. In addition, I like that cork is naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial.

I ordered a few big rolls (1/8" thick x 24" wide x 30' long) from Widgetco. They also have flat sheets of cork.

I used plastic liners under the sinks.

Another vote for cork - we use it in our wide pot-and-pan drawers and it's been great. One thing I'd add: for 30-inch drawers specifically, consider getting adjustable drawer dividers or peg systems along with whatever liner you choose. The liner protects the drawer bottom, but dividers keep heavy pots from sliding into each other when you open and close the drawer. We use the bamboo peg system from our cabinet maker and it's made a huge difference - everything stays in place and the drawer bottom stays pristine. For the liner itself, the thicker rubber-backed shelf liners (not the thin contact paper type) work well because they have enough grip to keep things from shifting but are easy to pull out and clean.

First thing I'd ask: Since a 30" drawer holds so much, do you really need "many" of them for pots and pans?

I'd consider that thicker, sponge-ier shelf liner -- the rubbery stuff that lays down nicely and lasts -- I had the same stuff in my cabinets for more than two decades. You can even lift it out, wipe it down, and return it to the cabinets. I think it might be sold under the Contact paper brand, but it's not the same stuff at all.

If that doesn't sound good, maybe buy one of those under-sink silicone liners. You'd have to cut it, and getting the edges "right" wouldn't be easy, but it'd be thick and sponge-y.

We used Gorilla Grip Drip Guard. We originally had the powergrip and it did not hold up in some drawers. We have been happy with the Drip guard though.

I haven't lined my drawers with anything and they are in great condition 5 years later with lots of pots and pans going in and out daily. Am I doing something wrong by not lining? They are solid maple.

Plus one to what HU said about pegboard systems. I use them for my storage container drawer, big pots/pans drawer, and a drawer that has all my baking dishes. It keeps lids and bottoms organized, and makes it easy to grab what I need.

I love the ones from Rev-a-Shelf but instead opted to spend a whole bunch less at IKEA and they work just fine. (IKEA Uppdatera.) I put the cork liners under the pegboards.
