https://springhillnursery.com anyone uses them for clematises?

I like to purchase from brushwood, but they are sold out of some of the ones I want. I am interested in varieties like Princess Kate so texensis hybrids. Where do you get yours?

thank you!

I love Springhill's clematis, especially the Evison shorties like Edda and another that I can't remember just now, of course. But I buy clematis locally from Edwards (sorry, Ben). They sell 100s of locally grown clems, including those cute short Evison's. The plants are big and blooming by the time you pick them up for planting. My second choice would be Springhill, but I have no idea if they send out good plants. Hope someone can help you more. Diane

I’ve had goid success ordering from Donahue’s. They are on the smaller side, but well rooted abd quick to establish.

Thank you all! They are offering some new clems that do not seem available at other sites. I wanted to be certain they weren't a scam.

Springhill is the exclusive seller of the Evison shortie, Elodi, a clem I've wanted for several years, but they are always sold out of this beauty. It was still available earlier. I don't know if you're interested in that type of clematis, but Evison seems to be the top breeder in recent years of lots of popular varieties. I've grown Rosemoor for a number of years and it's been totally carefree. You can prune it as a type 3 or type 2. This year, I pruned it just a little and it's going to be bigger. Good luck in finding your clematis.

Rosemoor after hard pruning. I hope it doesn't become a monster this year with a little bit of cutting back.

I’ve purchased many clematis from Springhill. They are small but they’ve always done well for me and I like their unique selection.

Diane, I have Elodi on order this year. I wanted it last year but didn’t order it early enough. I received another Raymond Evison compact nonvining clematis Bijou two years ago from Springhill and I like it a lot.

Seconding donahue, I have bought some from both vendors and so far the donahue ones have had bigger roots and taken off quicker than springhill. I have princess Kate clematis that was bought from Springhill, and it has taken her four years to finally put on some substantial growth. It could be the variety in her case
