I like the tapestry centered over the bench. And just the fur piece on the bench. Vases etc. aren't appropriate down lown.

Benches are for sitting on. You can't fill up a chair seat or a bench seat and have it look good....JMO A small buffet would make sense there....

I agree with the other comments. Remove everything from bench & use tapestry alone above. It looks like you have another tapestry at the other end of sofa. You’re risking making things too busy with the mirrors & other small items around the tapestry above the bench. Add in the patterned drapes with more detail & too busy. As NiCOZ5 noted, a small buffet might suit that space better. Would anyone sit on the bench in that spot?

Too much there with the side tables and the bench. Get rid of the bench and get a bigger side table. My mother has similar spacing between living and dining. She has no side table and has a larger demilune console with art over it and a tall thin table lamp.

Tapestry above the bench. No mirrors.

It's a lovely little bench with a thoughful arrangement that you seem to like. Why spend more money on furniture that will only crowd this liminal space?
