Sorry I cannot help with the polished nickel. I just want to share that I regret letting myself be talked into brushed nickel fixtures. Every one of them has water spots and scale I never had with chrome.

I would only do polished and honestly chrome is IMO timeless and every maker does it so no big issues with "matching"

I prefer chrome for faucets too. I do have brushed nickel door knobs, and other things. But faucets are all chrome.

In my experience, brushed nickel spots horribly. Polished nickel was the finish of choice in kitchens and bathrooms until WWII--and still is in Western Europe. It ages more gracefully than chrome. For those reasons, I used in a historic home reno back in day when it was a custom finish. Current house had high-dollar chrome faucet when purchased; can't wait to replace. After you live with the softer, slightly grayer look of polished nickel, chrome seems too shiny, which to my eye looks cheap. If you go chrome, pay attention to construction. Many chrome faucets _are_ products of our disposable age and use cheapest construction possible.

If you are really undecided, order one of each so you can see the finishes and return the one you don't want.

I have both polished chrome and polished nickel fixtures in my bathrooms. I like the softer warmer glow of the nickel a bit more but either is fine imo. Both finishes have held up well. One Kohler polished chrome bath faucet is going on 30 years old and it looks as good as the day it was installed.

I do not like my two Kohler kitchen faucets’ brushed finishes as much as they show water spots more. They do clean up fine.

I have brushed nickel fixtures in 2.5 baths. They do water spot - you need to clean them/wipe them down and then they are no problem.
