Seeking Opinions On Exterior Paint Schemes

last month
last modified: last month

Hello! We bought a 20-year-old home and have recently replaced the roof with Timberline shingles in Barkwood, and are now in the process of trying to figure out exterior paint colors. At first, we were thinking a creamy color (like Sherwin-Williams Urban Putty) with dark brown trim (like Sherwin-Williams Rookwood Dark Brown). Still, we are not sure about a color for the shutters and front door (hubby was thinking Urbane Bronze, but I don't know), as well as the fascia and the columns on the back screened-in porch and deck railing columns. FYI-we will not be replacing our windows, so they will remain the cream/taupe color you see in the pics. What do you all think? I then was thinking, "Hmm - what about a green color for the siding?" (like Sherwin-Williams Dried Thyme, or maybe something a little lighter)? Hubby is about over it! LOL! Here are pictures of the front, side with garage doors, and back of our house (the yellow-ish pieces in the pics are where pieces of the siding and trim that were recently replaced in preparation for new paint). What do you all think would look best to brighten things up and make the stone pop, but without being too bright? We will probably only live in this house another two years, so we don't want to overdo it, but also want it to look nice because right now it's too dark and the paint has faded over time, so it is in desperate need of a facelift! Thank you in advance for any and all help!
