I like the color the door is now. I am guessing that is stain. If so, try and match that color with paint, and keep it looking much like it does now.

Is this the picture of the remade doors? A rebuilt door could have patches that stain cant hide but paint would. Show us the new door, so you get responses that match your need. If the fixed door is in the shop waiting finish so you are asking then your best bet is as suggested above go with a brown paint that most matches what the wood color was. If this is the door needing new finish, I wouldn't paint it. That's a trendy fad that works fine on suburban boring homes. This home doesn't need that attention seeking feature. DIY it, it would be some elbow grease buy no where near one thousand let alone 20K to strip, sand, re-stain and poly. I would remove the yellow lawn chairs ASAP they are bringing down the facade.

If you aren't going to have a door that can be stained - I'd paint it the same color as the windows/trim OR a color that looks like a stained wood door.

I feel like this isn't the type of home that a "pop" of color would work on the front door.

I can't speak; the house is beyond! Those leaded glass windows, gorgeous (bugger to clean...I found just water and two microfiber clothes keep the lead from clouding the glass).

I would choose black for the front door.
