vertical or horizontal? What does the whole space look like? Bright room with windows?

Hi Lyn - we are going to install horizontally. It's a condo on the water with lots of windows and light in an open floor plan. There are floor-to-ceiling windows approx 20' feet across from the backsplash. Thank you for your comment.

We used a very similar Lunada Bay tile in a glossy finish (silk was an option).

I'd go for the shine!

In my previous house I did a full powder room in the Sonoma Vihara iridescent.

Just be careful of any windows and which way they face, so you aren't blinded by glare with a west facing window during late afternoon hours. In that same house I tested a sample board in my kitchen, with west and south facing windows, and the glare was blinding!

No windows in the powder room.

i responded to you on my thread you asked me about with pics.

i did the same tile in irridescent. chispa gave me the same advice and it was good advice.. i only have one window and there isnt much sun. i do get a bit of shine/ gleam on the tiles , but it is actually very pretty. I hope this helps

The iridescent tile would be a hard "no" for me, but I'm not a glam kind of girl. The silk/matte one is more subdued, so much preferred for me. The question is which look do YOU prefer?
