I call it a utility drawer.

    ”Only ONE?” 😄

I didn’t know we could count utility drawers. But, yes…a rose by any other name.

What isn't in ours. The oldest item is a birthday candle. Simba so maybe for a four year old which would put it at 25-30 years old.

This is my main one. There are satellite drawers too but this one is the oldest and has the most stuff in it. And the bag of bags hangs off of it too.

    Satellite drawers! I love it.

After more thinking, I realised that I have those, too.

I’d be concerned if I had no room to put stuff, but the rest of my drawers are pretty organised and not full at all.

I have three junk drawers. GW is refusing to accept my photo uploads.

Holey Moley! I have three drawers devoted to odds and ends. One holds crock pot liners, air fryer sheets and assorted silicon pot pie crust or pie crust protectors, a super shallow drawer. One holds extra coffee cups that we use to hold basting sauces, with jars of old rubber bands and clothespins, also the chip clips are there. The last has random stuff like leftover birthday candles, balloon inflators, cake deco tools, and spare mason jar lids. Also random screws that we find in the kitchen (surely those fell out of an appliance, right?)

This is my kitchen drawer that has no kitchen stuff in it so is my bits & bobs & odds & ends drawer.

Oh my goodness! Some of you are so organised if those are your junk drawers.

I have two side by side drawers in the kitchen peninsula, and they hold no kitchen items. They started out organized with trays and dividers but ended up after a few months a hodgepodge of duct tape, scotch tape, hammer, two screwdrivers, gardening twine, miniature light bulbs, rulers, matches and much more. They're a mess!

roxsolid, remember what I said about my innate organization habits in another post. You should see my sock drawer though - just toss them in 😊

I agree with Rox. Some of these barely qualify.

Pity they don't make those square litre ice-cream tubs any more. They were handy.

I have a jar of such pieces. As soon as I toss a nice stainless machine screw found on the floor, I’ll be looking for such a screw that goes to an appliance for which I cannot locate a replacement.

DH can be lousy at labelling bits and bobs. I’ll fine a small jumper switch and put it in a small zip lock bag with a question mark. He won’t recall what it came from or if we need it. He isn’t always good at putting things back. He mangles that (? Quaker) maxim, ”A place for everything and everything in its place.” Sometimes there isn’t any “place.” I suggest he make one. He procrastinates or forgets. (I am not perfect.)

When he leaves tools out and about, I tell him my maxim is:

Whenever everything is handy, nothing is available.”

I have a general kitchen junk drawer (cotton twine, chip clips, compost bags, coffee basket liners tho I don't own a coffee maker.....) and one near my baking supplies for little things like a biscuit press, icing bag and tips, cheese cloth

Toronto Veterinarian - those coffee basket liners make great flower pot bottom liners to keep the potting soil from leaking out of pot. Just drop one in placed over hole before adding potting soil.

Thanks to all for showing us what’s in your drawers🤭

My junk drawer is more like arcy’s. I have no idea what is in there, or why it’s in there.

I have several drawers with stuff in them but I pretty much know what’s in them.

And like lily, they all started out organised.

Old lady candies and old lady plates

Overflow junk drawer, just below the main junk drawer. (Satellite drawer, I guess. Thanks murraysmom)

Snort! You are welcome. I do have another (satellite) drawer that holds all the cords to recharge my various and sundry technology things that don't get used very often. The stuff that needs daily recharging, those cords stay out in various places around the house. Unsightly but I am the only one looking at them and I know exactly where each one is. They are wherever I will be when it needs recharging.

" those coffee basket liners make great flower pot bottom liners to keep the potting soil from leaking out of pot. "

Good tip! I originally bought them when I needed to strain some yogourt for a recipe. I've heard they're good for cleaning glass since they're lint free, but I keep forgetting to try them.

TV - I can’t remember how I learned to do this with the filters. It really keeps the plant saucers so much cleaner - only the excess water comes out & the soil stays put.

@KW PNW Z8, thanks for the helpful tip about using coffee filters as plant pot liners!

Too late this year to use the coffee filters as plant liners. Good idea. But everything is planted, and I'll forget by next year. If I make a note, I'll lose it in the junk drawer.

I now have an idea —- I will take snapshots of my 20 satellite drawers and the bunch of clutter on my counters. The neat people here might offer my solutions. Or I could box it all up, ship it to a neat person with the drawer dimensions and ….

About remembering to use those coffee filters for planter liners - since I don’t have a coffee maker that needs them I have them stored in my garden shed where my empty pots are. It’s part of my organization strategy that I store items that ’go together’ in the same place. Saves me hunting around for spare parts for a task or project. It also frees up space in my brain’s memory bank by not have to remember where all the odds & ends live in my house. Full disclosure - My husband saves small things like bits & bobs in our garage. If he can’t find that specific small item he needs he just buys another. It’s true what they say about opposites attract. Maybe I should’ve posted a pic of his big tool chest drawer - it doesn’t look anything like the pic I did post of my non-kitchen items drawer!
