I was looking for the same thing. I had to settle on a Rocky Mountain unit that doesn’t chill the water beyond the cold tap setting. Other units cost more than I wanted to spend.

I love the instant hot water. Both for tea and fresh press, but also cleaning!

Thanks Meghan. In my research today, I came across another possible solution - a bottleless countertop water dispenser. It looks like it's about the size of an air fryer, and it gets attached to a water line so it uses your home water supply. They have various features but the one I am looking at has hot, cool, and cold filtered water. It's not the ideal solution but if I can incorporate it into an appliance garage or something it could work. Anything to stop paying for and lugging 5 gallon bottles! (and get rid of the giant dispenser). They seem to run about $2-400.

Oh that’s a good idea! We’re lucky in that our water is super clean so we don’t need any filtration.

Amazon has a bunch of these. This countertop Avalon A12 can also be connected to the under-sink cold water valve. This InSinkErator HOT250 Instant Hot and Cold Water Dispenser System mounts under the sink.

Thanks, that one is on our list, and also the Avida one. I would still prefer an under sink option but it's looking like that will just be cost prohibitive.

I drink water pretty much exclusively and I drink a lot of it in a reusable insulated water bottle. I don't like using ice cubes because they often block the water spout and make drinking more difficult. Not that I owe anyone an explanation, but the assumption that someone's “obvious” solution is automatically the best solution for everyone is pretty arrogant.

And virtually every new kitchen I see has an instant hot spout so I'm apparently not the only one who likes that convenience also. Actually, thinking about it, aren't many of the things we use in kitchen redesigns intended to make things more convenient? Since when is trying to optimize convenience a bad thing?
