Looking for humidifier recommendations for my indoor plants—what featu

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to buy a new humidifier for my houseplant collection, but I’m completely overwhelmed by the options and technical specs. Instead of just picking a popular brand, I want to understand what actually works in reality.

I would love to get your advice on a few specific things:

  1. Mist Height & Direction: Does the height of the mist output matter? Is it better to have a taller unit or a nozzle that lets you adjust the direction of the mist, or does it not make a difference?
  2. Output Rate (Mist Volume): How important is it to be able to control the exact mist output rate? Do you find yourselves changing the levels often, or just leaving it on one setting?
  3. Built-in Sensors vs. Reality: I’ve read that many built-in humidity sensors are inaccurate because they are too close to the water/mist itself. What has been your experience with this?
  4. The "Hate" List: What is the number one thing you absolutely HATE about your current humidifier? (Cleaning hassle, small tank, bright annoying display lights at night, etc.)?

I really want to buy something that will actually keep my plants happy without causing daily frustration. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!
