Cement grout should be completely removed.

You may want to consider hiring someone else to correct this mistake given how messy the tile looks. He installed the wrong product and he did a poor job. It makes one wonder what else was done poorly and or incorrectly. Good luck.

Remove it, you will never get the caulk to sit well or be able to tooled correctly. And I agree with njay above in something that awful and sloppy makes me worry about all the contractors work. What is that wall surface? Tell me he did not tile the walls yet?

My shower was done with all grout, no caulk about five years ago and I have had no trouble with it. No leaks or cracks and it looks perfectly fine.

"Should" be able to, grout hardens over time so the sooner the better. No clue on the cist honestly. And depiste the above it will crack, not a matter of if just when.

Can we use a Siliconized Acrylic caulk or does it need to be 100 Silicone?
