The most common look-alike is Lilium lancifolium. If there are bulbils growing on the stem it's Lilium lancifolium. There is more than 1 variety of Lilium leichtilnii. AFAIK there are 3 varieties of Lilium leichtlinii. One variety, Lilium leichtlinii var maximowcizii is orange so not a contender.

The one from Jhonny's has a reddish stem, the other is completely green. In your photos it looks like the " Lilium leichtlinii var iwashimizu" has a green stem and the " Lilium leichtlinii var. leichtlinii" has a reddish stem. Did a google search on both and the resulting images were inconclusive if that stem color was a clear trait difference.

Only the first looks like my L. leichtlinii that came from B&D, and yes it has a reddish stem.

I tried crossing it this year. No luck. I do have swelling seed pods from 'Vico Gold' on 'Lankon'. If anyone wants to try to grow those seeds out, message me. They might need embryo rescue though, if they are even viable.
