Why quartz and why coordinate with quartzite which IMO is far superior to quartz ?

I agree! We are adding a bar to my kitchen which was done about 11years ago. I am unable to match my island and countertops so I was thinking that finding a creamy white muted quartz would be an alternative. Bar will be in the same room as the kitchen but on it's own wall.

Another option could be a wood countertop like black walnut

Is that what I should do? I did find a fabricator that has a remnant I can use. I think it will still be slightly different since its not from the same slab as my island and perimeter counters. I did consider wood but I’m worried about maintaining it. I looked at this quartz Vicostone Polaris. Thoughts on this?It’s next to a sample of the super white/white vermont quartzite.

I’ve attached an inspiration photo for my bar. I am planning to have the wood floating shelves and wood surround if possible. Appreciate the input!

One more thing- is the super white/white vermont quartzite outdated? It was very big at the time we did our kitchen. Its very grey!
