Tulle is a netting. Do you want that or perhaps a sheer fabric? When you claim they would be 'uncomfortable' do you really mean they can not be pulled to each side and have the roman shades totally uncovered? Roman Shades are not a soft window covering.

I think you're right that curtains would be hard to use here. Maybe add softness in other ways (bedding, plants, a rug in front of the chair/sofa, art)? If you need to block glare or views while letting daylight in, there are films that cling to the window glass that can do that.

No idea what you you mean by "comfortable" and I think you DO mean sheers versus "tulle" found in ballet costumes or bridal veils.

There is no need for them here, and no they won't be comfortable to install or use, and I would say......no. : )

If you want a more translucent roman shade or roller screen? That may be your answer.

Think about where the rod will attach, where the sheers will stack when opened, and where they will fall. Looking more closely, it looks like a rod could attach to the face of the wall above the wardrobes, which would let the sheers fall in front of the under-window unit and probably clear the stack of the opened shades. You will have to brush past them to use the door but that's workable.
