How to source more of a tile that's been discontinued

I am trying to somehow find 4-5 boxes of Nabi 3"x6" Deep Emerald Green Crackled Subway tiles. Tile Bar no longer has them, although I'm seeing if there's any way to do a specail order (though I doubt it). Already confirmed the ones on Perigold are not the same I'm looking for.

I am wondering if there may be any way to somehow locate any excess inventories of these? Just not sure how to go about it.

Would appreciate any advice - thanks!

Can you take a picture of the tile and try a google reverse search? We have to assume you have this tile already installed somewhere. If you post a picture folks might be able to offer some suggestions.

If adding to an existing installation it can be tricky to get a match as sometimes color runs are slightly different

Same problem with 12” x 24” porcelain tile. We knew the name and manufacturer, so made phone calls, emailed photos. Live in MI and had to go to Hamilton, Ontario to get a few pieces. Did find some in FL, and TX, but cost prohibitive to ship.

Oof 12x24 is very large, so makes sense shipping was really bad. But your story gives me a bit of hope hehe hopefully you completed your project!

I don't want to be the bubble burst lady, but . You won't find four or five or two boxes.

    show the kitchen : )

How long ago did you install the Nabi? Five years ago? Ten? More? It's a lifetime in design. This happens with flooring, with fabric, with wallpaper, and yes.......with tile.

It's a pain, and additional expense, and you tear off the splash and replace all.

    Good news!

Yes, fingers crossed! I am getting almost double the amount of what I need, so hopefully I end up with a sufficinet number of good ones to use.

Spoke way too soon, seems Jan is right lol! The samples don't match our green at all, though it seems to be the same tile otherwise. I have an original box with the batch and other ID numbers, have likely exhausted all avenues at this point. It's a shame because we absolutely love this tile, and there's isn't anything else like it that we're seeing in this color in the 3x6 subway format. Guess we just have to live with it or accept a backsplash we're not crazy about. Green is our favorite color, and our style is very much shaker/clean lines, so this green crackled tile was perfect for us in that its unique but also fits our house.

That's a shame it didn't work out with the colour match. You could try a custom tile maker. Not sure where you are located but I googled and found some different ones in Canada - there are likely many in the US. Worth working with a custom place to see if they can match the glaze or at least as close as possible so you can keep what you have in place already. If you really love the tile - it might be worth pursuing it.

Thanks MV. Will look into that route. we’re pretty bummed. this is like the main feature of the kitchen and goes so good with everthing. I feel like there may be some unused boxes, its just a matter of finding them, but doesnt look good.

We also wonder if theres a way to buff out minor scratches (that dont catch your fingernail) on glass tiles. Doubt it but may look into it. sigh.

I don't need to be "right", It's just that I am a realist and have been at this a long time.

There's a old saw: "Never try to teach a pig to sing, it wastes time and annoys the pig".....

Ask anyone; I don't follow the pig rule.

Do yourself the agony favor. .....there are about 80 billion green times out there. Give up the hunt, move on and go shopping, Yo may be pleasantly VERY surprise at what you can love and goes well with everything.

Designers get used to this....." Discontinued"........out of stock........you name it and it often happens when all else is planned and buttoned up. We hate it, but it happens. Reselect , face the do over music and get on with your life.: )

Trying to find matching tile is a fool's errand. Tile don't even match between batches. The commercial tile job at the condos next to mine was stopped for days while they searched for the same run to complete the job because the very next run didn't match. Fortunately, they found some.

Jan is correct - I feel like I've seen MANY green tiles everywhere. Green has been quite popular over the past few years. While I know that you love your current backsplash, I would be shocked if you can't find another one that will also make you very happy,
