@mptringale counter surface is Silestone - colour concrete

I thought Silestone was not warrantied for outside use. Are you concerned about cracking, etc.?

My parents have a couple of the Wassily chairs (possibly replicas, not sure). They are among the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. You sit very deep and low, so getting in and out is cumbersome. The leather is not soft and supporting like in the LC2 from Le Corbusier, but (by design) hard and tense. The angles are very odd as well. The Barcelona chair has a somewhat uncomfortable angle as well, but here it's far worse and also applies to the armrests. I don't doubt for a second that bicycles were an inspiration for this atrocity of a chair; it feels (and kind of looks) like it was made out of repurposed bicycle frames. My personal favorite is the Swan Chair. It's so beautiful and feels really timeless because of its organic shape, even more so than the others in this list! Eames' lounge chair is very pretty and iconic, too, but considering its fragility I'd favor the other chairs on this list. The furniture from Le Corbusier is very iconic and – for leather furniture – rather comfortable, too. Great design!

Hi Happy Jaye! Thanks for sending the sink pix. We've thought about the Blanco sinks since it's extremely durable, but we don't think any of the sink colors really compliment our kitchen as well as a copper sink...and I'm having a difficult time spending just as much on a kitchen sink as we have on the slab that goes on the island! Our slabs look a tad different than yours, and as well called a different name - I know this is very common with stores that sell slabs. We haven't done any testing whatsoever. The place where we purchased our slab from does their own testing, and rates the hardness and acidity test results right on each slab (they had an issue with customer's slabs failing a few years back which forced replacing them). I've also heard that testing one area of a slab, does not necessarily mean that there won't be any issues with other parts of the same slab. I'm also TOO in love with this slab and don't want to do any testing myself as I'm afraid the results may force me to pick a different stone (stupid I know!). I doubt our reno will move any quicker than yours, as we are JUST in the midst of modifying our island, and since hubby is doing the work on the island himself, it means that it will be worked on only one day a week. >:(. . Please keep me posted on your journey, and I will try to do the same!

Life is full of compromises. No one material will fill all your requirements. Pick the ones most important to you. Personally I had several glass tops, rounded corners, flat, high polished edges. I loved them because the kids could paint and glue projects, but I could wash the surface with dish soap and water.
