We are updating our 30 year old home in Anchorage AK. After painting master bedroom we now need new window coverings. Room is "awkward" to arrange due to large sliding glass door to a balcony (seldom used), doors to master bath and upstairs hall and the set of windows that use up another wall and are above baseboard heaters. On wall with hall entry we also pulled out old huge hot tub and put in storage space behind French doors. We need privacy and light blocking coverings (for long summer days) and insulating factor would help with long cold winters. Hunter Douglas said thermal honeycombs in small size with light blocking, even on the sliding door. Another input was the latest in vertical blinds (for sliding door) with a bit of patterned finish where the "vanes" of the blind kind of overlap and shades on window. Windows are casing ie. with a crank and inside screens. The photos are poor quality due to the lack of light control (and a large old green sheet tacked up over the door for interim privacy). Any ideas are welcome; but we are on a budget. Thanks.
