How can I hide lamp cords?

I have a sofa sitting on an area rug flanked by two end tables with lamps on them. How do I run the lamp plugs to the wall which is opposite the couch. The couch is in the center of the room facing the tv wall where the plugs are. I thought about plugging them both into an extension cord under the sofa and cutting a hole in the carpet and running the extension cord to the plug. Cutting a hole in my brand new area rug bothers me but I can't think of anything else. Tips?

Never a good idea to run electrical cords under carpet. Invest in getting electrical outlets closer to where you need them. A bit of an expense now but better safe than sorry.

can you get under that space> in a basement or other way. You need to find a place in the floor , not under the rug, but on the edge of it place a floor outlet. Once you have the placement of your sofa set, then have outlets installed either under the end tables or anywhere that is easy to get to, to use. Also are there any other wall outlets that you could snake an extension cord to, that would not be a tripping hazard and not under the rug?

Unfortunately the floor plan provided by a decorator has everything in the middle if the room. It's a weird rectangle connected to high traffic area. We live in Texas so it in a concrete slab with no basement. I will call an electrician to see about floor plugs. Bad advice from the decorator I paid :(

Use cordless LED lamps. Either purchase new or convert your old lamps to LED. Easy, safe and energy efficient. Save money on electricity and never worry about a cord again.

I need 150 watts for the lamps. Looking for modern look maybe in silver. Are any of these lamps that bright?

They use LED strip lighting, which may end up being brighter. It seems like some work, but maybe you could get more light this way?

I need a cord to the middle of the room for computer equipment (not lamps) so I can't do wireless led. I have carpet over concrete so I can't add a plug in the middle of the room. Any ideas on how to hide the cord that doesn't look cheap/tacky. I don't want to cut the carpet and run the cord underneath for safety reasons and it's expensive carpet.
