Is this a no no? My mother did it and I hate the way it looks.

I would like a quartz product, but it will end up costing me more money because of the way I am working with my contractor. I was also considering ice stone.



I love real travertine and marble but will it make my porcelain tiles look cheap and synthetic?

Below are my tiles for the shower. The river rocks are for the shower floor only. I am putting gray porcelain "stone" tile on the floor of the bathroom outside the shower leading to the vanity. It looks like a slate I guess.

I chose porcelain because of the maintenance. I have two young children and a part time job.
