Please elaborate on the messed up rubio? I would call Rubio USA and have them send me another bottle for samples. They make a great product. Dont let your installers mess it up for you. We love working with Rubio Monocoat.

When it comes to "stains" with a high pigment content (or pastels, washes, etc) are extremely tricky to "get right". Many a flooring installer has been fooled by these new forms of colour/stain options. If the finisher hasn't had a lot of experience with A) the colour and B) the format and C) the brand then OOPSAs are almost a given.

That is not to say this is not a major mix-up...it is to say that the colour/product chosen for the final look should have been inside the professional's "comfort zone". If it wasn't, then it was his "job" to say this is new and that he needs +++time to find the best approach.

With this information, you would have then been able to stick with the professional OR find someone with stronger skills in your prefered finish. This is style an issue with the professional. The stuff on the market today is vastly different from 15 years....even 8 years. Heck, I have seen professionals mess up water based polyurethane application over finished cork flooring.

The knowledge of yesterday does not always translate to the chemicals of today.
