I have signed up for a certificate in Interior Decor and have been given my first assignment which is to provide examples of each of the Design Elements and Principals.. but I am confused as to what they actually would look like I have to provide an example for Elements - line, light, direction, size/scale, colour, shape, tonal value (high,intermediate, low and varied), light, size/scale, shape, texture and pattern Principles - harmony, dominance, symmetry, balance, contast, opposition, rhythm, repetition.

I have to name the element of principal present, how it is shown, other elements that have worked together to allow it to exist and if discussing an element and an obvious principle exists as well I have to explain how the element contributes.

I am super confused about how that works, and am a visual person and need to see examples as the explaination given are very confusing. Is anyone able to explain these basics to me? Before I even attempt to provide an example!
