How much wallcovering should one do?

We're getting ready to remodel, and I'm thinking of using this wallpaper in my living room. I live in a townhome, so the dining room and kitchen are on the same level, open-plan style. How far should one extend wallcoverings before it becomes too much? Thank you!

It all depends on the pattern and what else is going on in the room. We love wallpaper- especially something like this picture. It adds a nice texture without being "too much". Thank you for your interest in our work!
