Hi, I'm about to embark on my first remodeling journey. Should be a fun ride! I'm knocking down the wall between the dining room and kitchen, gutting the kitchen (white cabinetry with soapstone or leathered jet mist granite) and putting oak flooring in (like the rest of the house has). The hallway goes through the kitchen and past the powder room, mudroom and then ends at the side porch. I want to use slate in the mudroom/side entrance area, but wood in the kitchen and hall. Any ideas on how to gracefully start/stop the wood/slate so it doesn't look weird? Thanks so much!
