We ended up ordering excess mosaic tile when we started working on our fireplace surround. We have the tile put up on the wall already. From end to end, the wall tile area measures 54 inches. See picture for work in progress.

Now we are wondering if we should put that same mosaic tile flush with the floor to a depth of about 12 to 15 inches because we have so much extra? Or should we go with something neutral and basic, such as, three 18 x 18 neutral tiles cut to 15 inches depth? The floor will eventually be done with engineered hickory wood flooring with reddish brown tones and the fireplace will have a surround and mantle similar to this Houzz picture below.
