I’m sure lighter drapes and rug would lighten the room a bit. But. What a space! Gorgeous windows and such high ceilings! Lucky you :)

I'd skip the sage table cover, and rose pillow / and keep colors to minimum, for a less "decorated look."... make any sense? Nothing wrong with tan. This thread about W.Tan:

What a lovely room. Lighter drapes and lighter rug will help. You might also consider paining two walls a lighter tan or cream. I would paint the two window walls.

Wilmington Tan is still a beautifully warm color that's right for certain spaces. Since you have great natural light coming through your bay window, I'd recommend forgoing drapes for a short time to explore a bottom-up cellular shade or similar that will let in even more light and not make the nook feel quite as closed-in as a tall drapery can do.

Also just want to check - is the ceiling in here your same bright, trim white? It looks like it may be an ecru or other off-white currently. If not, it should match your trim white (in a flat finish) - that will definitely help reflect even more light around the space, too.

Wonder if a different central overhead light may help shed brighter, more diffused light in the space also - modified drum shade on a dimmer or similar. Cheers!

The ceiling is the same BM Wilmington tan cut with the trim paint 20/80%. Good point, maybe painting the ceiling and removing some drapes. And, I do love drum shades...thank you...
