Inspiration for a mid-sized traditional backyard formal garden in Portland.

Ever changing garden in Vancouver, WA. We bought this property on an acre of horse pasture and started to landscape it immediately. Garden is now 17 years in the making and I'm still working on it and love changing and adding to the look. I took the pictures and they're from early spring to late fall.

I instantly loved this space! It feels formal yet, informal. I enjoy the use of white Impatients (I believe I am looking at Impatients!) The white will do well in the evening hours to illuminate the space. The placement of the annuals matches the form of the pathway. the walkway is perfect with limited amounts of flagstone, and the use of gravel adds texture and feeling to the space. I can imagine the cruch cruch sound of walking through the entrance, and I want to slow down and enjoy the g - john_duthie5409822

Inspiration for an asian backyard concrete paver landscaping in Charlotte.

We needed a bridge to cross the dry creek bed, so I designed a version of a Japanese yatsuhashi, or zig zag, bridge. It is clad in concrete backer board. I wanted to simulate a granite mountain plateau with a boulder peak. The client purchased the concrete lantern which perfectly complements the entrance to this woodland garden. Photo by Jay Sifford
