2 Designers Share Tips for Creating Stylish Kid-Friendly Rooms

In this episode of Houzz TV Live, producer Rick Spence talks with New York interior designers Erin Coren and Lina Galvao of Curated Nest. Coren brings viewers into her Tudor-style family-friendly living room. She gives tips for choosing durable fabrics like indoor-outdoor rugs and discusses storage pieces that hide kids’ toys while still looking stylish enough for a formal living space.

Galvao talks through key design decisions she and Coren made in two basement renovations. In one, removable wallpaper, smart storage and a chalkboard paint wall promote organization and creativity. In the other, performance fabrics and built-in storage create a mixed-use space for play and family entertainment.
