Peek Inside a Designer’s Modern Suburban Home in Philadelphia
In this episode of Houzz TV Live, designer Robert Jamieson takes viewers through a few spaces in his renovated 1968 home in suburban Philadelphia. He highlights several details that make the home unique. In the family room, maple wood flooring reclaimed from a basketball court includes some blue and red pieces that create a cool visual effect. In the kitchen, handmade backsplash tiles hand-dipped in indigo pigment have a watery look. Petrified-wood cabinet hardware is another standout feature.
In a dining area, a live-edge wood table is surrounded by midcentury modern school chairs with collages of old paintings laminated on the seats and backs. And in the master bathroom, Carrara marble on the floor and two walls contrasts with two walls tiled in slate for a moody, spa-like feel.
