These Incredible Birdhouses Were Made From Recycled Materials
PBC Design + Build of Wilmington, North Carolina, recently challenged its team members to upcycle leftover materials from job sites to build homes for local birds. In this episode of Houzz TV Live, the team members share their creations. Special birdhouse features include a cedar shake roof, an ipe wood deck, a railroad spike perch, a walnut entryway and more. Check out their birdhouses, then vote in a Houzz poll on which one is your favorite.

We hope you guys enjoy our birdhouses! All were constructed during the quarantine downtime and using only found materials from our job sites. PBC has a nice project in the works on a heavily wooded property and since tree preservation is very important to our firm, all of these amazing pieces of art will have a permanent home, as well as some lucky birds!
Great challenge! This was fun to check out, as I have recently made a series of mason bee houses for family members.
That's a beautiful pieces
These are lovely. I also build bird and mason bee houses out of materials left over from construction. Plus, you can get copper sheeting to keep roofs waterproof. Just remember not to use arsenic-treated wood and don't paint the inside. The internet has sites to help understand what birds need in birdhouses and what is toxic to them.
Love them all and especially that they were built with leftover materials. Great idea!
Love them all! Beautiful, functional pieces of art!
So clever and creative. Great use of materials you already had. Nice way to spend your quarantine time!
What a great idea! These little houses are so well thought out and would be fun to have in the yard. Lucky birds!

All good birdhouses need to be able to open up for seasonal cleaning.
