Tour a Designer’s Beautiful Low-Maintenance Kitchen
In this episode of Houzz TV Live, Jennifer Kizzee gives a virtual tour of her renovated kitchen in Houston. Kizzee, who has young kids, embraced a low-maintenance strategy by using durable materials like marble-look quartz countertops, wood-look luxury vinyl plank flooring and washable wallpaper in a nearby hallway. She repurposed her cabinets but updated them with more drawer storage, a blue-gray paint color (Repose Gray by Sherwin-Williams) and a new white oak cabinet tower. A beveled subway tile feature wall and lots of brass finishes punch up the design.

LOVE your kitchen....I am so glad to hear you talk about LVP as you did. I have wanted to change out my ugly engineered hardwood for LVP but was worried that it wasn't a wise financial improvement. Can you tell me more about the LVP product you used? Brand/style? I also have light colored birch cabinets that I would love to figure out how to keep the wood look but lighten them to a more modern look. similar to your new tower cabinet...ideas?
I loved the tour Jennifer! Loving the L.V.P. and thinking to use that in a house we are building. I also loved the tile on the wall all the way up to the ceiling. Thank you so much for sharing!
What is the blue color in the hallway? And are your light fixtures Hudson Lighting?
Jennifer, your kitchen re-do is an inspiration and especially appreciate your use of the tile, LVP flooring and cabinetry. This was an excellent video and your responses regarding choices and decisions for children and pets hit home! Thanks for sharing. Loved the tour! Great job .
The countertop looks great. What is the material you used? Thanks!
What LVP did you use? Brand and color? I love it!
Beautiful kitchen! Loved every detail!
Anyone find out the brand and name/color of the LVP yet?
I love this kitchen! I love how beautiful a kitchen can be and yet it is practical and easy to clean. Wow! Wow! Wow!
Another request for the manufacturer of the LVP. Great job on the spacing of it too! Thanks!
Everything is wonderful in your new kitchen space. Could you share purchasing information for the wallpaper over the wainscoting?
Jennifer is so real! Beautiful design too!

This is one but I have a lot more
I really like it
I just posted a few pics of my house as I’m ready to sell the house and my other half isn’t changing anything structurally however I was thinking about hooking up the outside shower on the back of the house he just doesn’t want me to pay a lot and we live right next to the beach in Brant rock/Marshfield, Massachusetts which is both residentially and commercially zoned and has almost 5,000 square feet which is a lot because you’re right on the ocean any ideas??
kristeneff...Still no answer; I sent her a message through her website and nothing yet either.
@cdelucky @Maria Santos @Diane Walden @kristeneff The flooring is the West Branch from Southern Traditions
@Nikki Bush. THANK YOU!
Thank you Nikki! :)
Beautiful remodel! I'm beginning to really like the idea of a pot-filler at the stove. We put down luxury vinyl tile in our kitchen, laundry room, and adjoining bathroom. It looks so much like the ceramic tile we had in our other house I often forget it's vinyl. We have had it for five years now and are extremely happy with it.
Where are these gorgeous glass kitchen pendants from?
The timber against the white colour scheme is so seamless, on top of the low maintenance required - this is a great idea.
One of the best designs I’ve seen recently. I love everything about it. Such a great job creating the “room divider” with storage. You still maintained open concept, but the rooms are defined.
