The bedspread is Hotel Collection from Macy's (this particular one is discontinued, but they have similar ones). The throw and all of the pillows were custom designed and made locally using fabric from Sahco & Bergamo. -mw

Thank you for your prompt response re the swing arm lamps. Your work is beautiful! (I/we most appreciate it as we live in Williamsburg, VA, where, although it's a great town, folks here are really stuck on 18th century style!!! Best to you! Laurie

Yes, if you go to the project folder called "Custom Contemporaru Urban Residence," you can scroll down and see another shot of the bed from a side angle. It's right above the photo you were looking at here. Hope this helps!

The diva knows that mixing patterns is all the rage, so she includes everything from geometrics to prints. She’s not afraid of too many patterns in one room; she knows how to work it.

"My client wanted something luxurious yet still masculine, since he’s a bachelor," says Maika Winter of Wintercreative. "To achieve that, we used clean lines, contrast and a limited, neutral palette — all traits borrowed from the luxury hotel industry, which often take the same approach to project an air of sophistication while remaining gender neutral." A 7-foot-high crushed-velvet headboard accentuates the height of the room. Since she was working in a small loft space, Winter says she decided to "do the bed wall in a rich, dark wood-veneer wall covering to help achieve a greater sense of depth and set off the bed nicely."

To give your bedroom a look of total luxe, use a richly colored wallpaper and pile lush fabrics right onto your bed. Try an over-sized velvet headboard, plush pillows and silky linens.

Vanessa Brunner added this to Houzz Planning: How to Choose Your Bedroom LightingMay 26, 2011

Pay particular attention to the color theme in your bedroom, because your lighting will effect how this color is perceived in the room. Brightly colored rooms tend to need less light than darker rooms, but natural light will have to be taken in account as well. Learn more from a local lighting designer
