Barnaby's Bungalow
With a few simple moves, this NYC apartment was completely transformed from worn to WONDERFUL! The once-tight galley kitchen is now open to the living space, with its new eat-in peninsula. It boasts a wide quartz countertop, ending in a beautifully detailed waterfall panel, with wine refrigerator and deep drawers. The MC Escher inspired cement tiles give the kitchen some added funk. New wide-plank distressed oak floors replaced the dated parquet throughout. The exposed brick wall is highlighted by a light cove, and was 'greenified' by a Brooklyn moss artist (yes... moss artist!). A custom radiator cabinet widens at the edge of the living room to become a work-from-home desk.
Replacing a single-loaded walk-in closet with a hyper-efficient, custom reach-in closet, we were able to reconfigure the bedroom layout to widen the room. This afforded more space for art and a cozy reading nook.
The bathroom got a major face lift, which includes a light cove, seamless porcelain slab tub/shower with integrated niche, a floating vanity with custom countertop and shelf, new tile, and bamboo-clad walls to bring in warmth and more texture.
This apartment is now grinning from ear-to-ear, and is a true reflection of the owner's vibrant personality and style.
