First Place Award Winning Blue Ridge Kitchen
2015 First Place Winner of the NKBA Puget Sound Small to Medium Kitchen Design Awards. 2016 Winner HGTV People's Choice Awards in Kitchen Trends. 2016 First Place Winner of the NKBA National Design Competition.
This architectural gem of an estate is exceptionally designed in an authentic Tuscan theme. The entry and dining room walls are covered with gorgeous hand painted canvas murals depicting the Italian countryside. But the lackluster kitchen and modern 80s cabinetry did not capture the essence of this spectacular dwelling.
A picture window overlooks an expansive view of the Puget Sound, yet the kitchen was dark and dreary. An updated lighting plan, a barrel vaulted ceiling and a pale palette with rich finishes provide the panache that was missing. Thoughtfully incorporated are simple but elegant flourishes including "sexy" cabinet drawers, millwork details, crown molding and polished nickel hardware and fixtures.
Elimination of an underused appliance garage and careful placement of a microwave drawer liberated an expansive work area on each side of the cook top and sink.
This exquisite jewel box of a kitchen shimmers with class and sophistication worthy of the chef it now delights.
The renovation of the kitchen was a part of the project which included a redesign of the family room and fireplace, a casual dining area and a powder room and the laundry room.
