Our client purchased 2 apartments that needed to be combined & that necessitated a complete gut renovation. The client wanted the overall architectural interiors to be very contemporary-very clean lines & no trims around windows & doors. Private roof rights were obtained and required a staircase to be built to a new headhouse & roof deck. The spaces are large & generous per the client’s request. Though this apartment has significant SF for a dense urban environment, there are only 2 bedrooms & 2 ½ baths in addition to the living spaces. A Bulthaup kitchen was installed. 5” wide maple flooring was installed. Cherry baseboards & millwork were installed. There is a full laundry room incorporated off the kitchen. And a custom 8’ x 12’ custom skylight was added over the staircase. Light fixtures, pedestal sinks and many individual furniture pieces are vintage & were purchased in European flea markets. Gas & water lines were brought to the roof deck to make entertaining & caring for the plant boxes easier.
