This project involved the redesign of three floor levels and ensuing renovation of an historic Post Office apartment in Marblehead, MA.
Design changes included the entry foyer, powder room, kitchen, stairs, windows, new coffered ceilings, master bedroom and bath, 2nd floor reconfiguration and basement renovation.
The key design challenge was to open the two-story window (previously bisected by the exposed floor plate extending to the window face) and have the new opening communicate seamlessly with the first floor dining area and the master suite above.
The master bath vanity was custom designed for the space and the client's storage needs.
An under-utilized basement took on a new life with minimal intervention and significantly expanded the useful floor space.
